One Way Resourcing Attains REC Audited Status

Date: 23/11/2009

Recruitment agency One Way Resourcing has attained Audited Status with the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

The agency based in Southampton, Portsmouth and Slough, was assessed against the requirements of the Employment Agencies Act, the Employment Business Act, the REC’s Code of Professional Conduct and general business practice.

This audit scheme – run by the REC, the trade association for the UK’s £22.5 billion recruitment industry– is the most comprehensive audit of its kind, providing an official endorsement that any agency achieving it conducts its business both ethically and in accordance with the Acts.

Established in 2005 One Way Resourcing specialises in the placement of permanent and temporary staff in construction roles at all levels, nationwide.

A corporate member of the REC, the agency has 12 staff headed by director Paul Payne.

Commenting on achieving Audited status, Paul Payne said: ““We have always tried to raise the bar as far as recruitment best practice is concerned. For example, because we know that supplying qualified and experienced operatives who are health and safety trained is business critical to our clients, we have been fully audited by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and are now one of only 100 organisations to hold a platinum CSCS certificate. This means that we can guarantee that any operative supplied to a client will be 100% CSCS compliant. Additionally, we put all our crane operators and tele-handlers through a ‘fitness to work’ medical to ensure that they are fit and healthy enough to operate the machine. Additionally, Helen Reynolds, the Managing Director of our investment partner, HB RIDA, a joint venture between James Caan’s Hamilton Bradshaw and RIDA (The Recruitment Industry Development Agency), has been very proactive in ensuring the robustness of our own internal compliance procedures. This REC audited status gives an official endorsement of our continual commitment to best practice.”

Kevin Green, the REC’s Chief Executive, said: “Our congratulations to One Way Resourcing for achieving Audited status which shows they are performing to the highest standards of best practice to which our members continuously strive.”
