Job Description
Senior Quantity Surveyor required to join one of the U.K's leading civils main
contractors to work in its rail sector within the London area.
Your main duties will include:
Maintaining effective communication with contract managers, project
management, managing / project qs and other associated disciplines
Staff matters such as training, development and project allocation
Provide and control strategy of commercial contacts with clients
representatives
Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting
and input to subcontract documents
Commercial management of subcontractors including processing payments and
resolving disputed issues
Provide input to risk profiling and general management on projects
Monitor the timely production of cost reports and QF's
Produce and present monthly / quarterly reports including cashflow information
Input into drafting and promoting usage of company procedures
Ensure timely production of applications for payments in accordance with the
consitions of contract
Provide commercial advice to the site team and management of all contractual
issues
Attend and provide input to project start up and close out meetings
Produce and negotiate insurance claims with insurers representatives
Manage time and workloads for yourself and the commercial team in a structured
manner
Deliver commercial training to all site staff
As the successful candidate you will have:
Knowledge of quantity surveying to corperate member level of ICES or RICS or
equivalent
Successful experience at quantity surveying level
Thorough knowledge of construction procedures and working methods
Enhanced understanding of construction law and contractual terms in all
standard contract forms
